Frequently Asked Questions
May I park in the fire lane or curb? I will just be a few minutes.
The fire lanes are for the exclusive use of emergency vehicles and according to the California Vehicle Code (CVC) you may not stop in the fire lane.
Campus Safety Officers may issue parking citations for fire lane violations.
If no one is using the disabled parking space and I can't find an open space near my building, may I park in the disabled parking space?
The disabled parking space is for persons with a disability who prominently display an approved disability placard. The disabled parking space includes the blue striped area next to the space with the disabled icon and or in front of the ramp.
If I am locked out of my
room who do I call to let me into my room?
Call your floor Resident Assistant first. If your RA is not available you may
try your Residence Director or Campus Safety. If
Campus Safety is required to open your door then a $5.00 fee will be charged.
Have your university ID card available or the ability to prove your
residency for the room. Disciplinary action may be taken for trying to access
another student's room.
May I have two vehicles on
campus?
Due to the limited number of parking spots near the residence facilities
students may be limited to register only one vehicle. This will be enforced at
the discretion of the Campus Safety department.
Commuter students may register more then one vehicle; however, only one vehicle
may be on campus at a time.
If I live off campus do I need to register my vehicle?
All vehicles that are driven on campus must be registered through Campus Safety.
If I
am a Commuter Student, am I required to have a parking permit to park on campus? All
vehicles parking on campus must display a
Simpson
University
